University of Auckland International Student Scholarships
The University of Auckland offers a range of scholarships specifically for new, full-time international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Opening date: 9 September 2026 (for Semester 1 / Quarter 1 / Quarter 2 2027 intake) Closing date: 21 October 2026
Who is eligible?
- New, full-time international students at undergraduate or postgraduate level
- Minimum academic entry requirements apply (6 GPE minimum for most awards)
- Exclusive scholarships are also available for students from India and Southeast Asia
Value: Up to NZD $10,000 per scholarship for both undergraduate and postgraduate study. Up to 50 scholarships are awarded annually.
University of Auckland ADB Scholarship — Fully Funded
For postgraduate students from Asian Development Bank (ADB) member countries, the University of Auckland ADB Scholarship is one of the most generous fully funded awards available in New Zealand. It covers:
- Full tuition fees
- Living costs and accommodation
- Return travel expenses
- Health insurance
- A research allowance
This scholarship is specifically designed for high-achieving students with leadership potential who wish to contribute to their home country’s development after completing their studies.
